Microplastics

Help prevent stormwater pollution!

Plastic is not biodegradable, and instead breaks down into tiny pieces that marine life often mistake for food. Every year 7 trillion of these tiny plastic pieces, known as microplastics, flow into the San Francisco Bay from stormwater. Storm drains collect plastic litter on the roads such as foam food packaging and rubber bits from car tires, and deliver it, unfiltered, to our waterways. So remember, trash the trash!
