Yesterday evening around eleven pm...the bucolic silence of my ivory tower was violated! Indeed, a surge of inebriated teens descended on the Overlook Rd complex like a plague of over-privileged locusts. I could hear specific voices that stood out, like one braying little debutante who was lobbing generic insults at some poor man who asked them to leave. Punks. You see, the very heart and soul of LG owes a lot to it's persistently party-happy youths. I was one, and I got love for them. However, the snotty, unoriginal, and entitled attitudes of disrespect need to be nipped in the bud. Growing up here means you have an advantage. You are safe, you are fed, you and your friends can prowl the streets without fear at any hour...this does give you license to be a rude, marauding, monster to the very people who are providing your cushy infrastructure. As I watched the nonsense unfold below, I heard many car doors being slammed and engines gunned. I considered a second and then called the cops. I want kids to be kids and do what they do more than anyone. But it would kill me to see this town spiral any further with it's teen DUI deaths and it's rep for being filled with arrogant creeps. Let's knock it off man, and hasn't this neighborhood suffered enough already?!?! sniff sniff
