Every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4:30pm check out what we're building, making, and creating in our Open Studio hours! NUMU's Open Studio offers visitors of all ages a hands-on opportunity to explore, discover and create.
$5 Materials fee each-day/per participant.

June 18th & 19th - Nature Journals + Printmaking
Create your own nature journal and you’ll be able to draw and explore nature all summer long! You will practice different varieties of printmaking to fill it with beautiful art. Participants will experiment with gelatin prints, plant prints, and Styrofoam printmaking.

June 25th & 26th | Cardboard Automatons
Use cardboard boxes and wooden skewers to create moving, story-telling machines. Each participant will have the opportunity to plan a simple machine with some guidance in designing and building! This workshop will be a fun blend of art and engineering where participants can put gears and motion into practice.

July 2nd & 3rd |What is Upcycling?
Learn about recycling—the fun way! Bring in old t-shirts and learn how to make them into bracelets, headbands, scarves, and bags. We’ll also experiment with t-shirt weaving.

Saturday July 9th only | DIY Stop-Motion Movie Making
Lights, Camera, Action! Use modeling clay and imagination to make a short stop-motion movie! Participants will storyboard an idea, make figures with modeling clay, and draw their own movie backgrounds in order to make a short film.
