Shoppers picking up healthy vegetables or Halloween costumes for their kids got more than they bargained for at discount retailer Target.

Patch reached out to Target for comment. Molly Sims, spokeswoman for the Minneapolis-based retailer, responded, ”We are actively reviewing the situation with the team to better understand what happened and to help ensure this doesn’t happen again. Because this is an active investigation, I’m unable to share additional details, but we want our guests to know that we take this very seriously.”
This is the second time this has happened in California this year. The previous incident occurred in San Luis Obispo, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, where Target is headquartered.
