A fight broke out after Saturday’s “Stop the Steal” rally at Town Plaza in which Trump supporters were accused of using anti-Asian epithets.

The town of Los Gatos and police issued a joint statement Tuesday condemning the alleged hate-speech incident.

On Wednesday, a group of around 15 to 20 protesters were demonstrating peacefully at Town Square in support of the president’s baseless claims of election fraud until Tretyakov drove up on the area at around 3:25 p.m., police said.

Tretyakov engaged in a verbal dispute with someone he assumed to be a Trump supporter and kicked their vehicle as they tried to drive away, causing significant damage according to police.

Tretyakov then retrieved a slingshot-type weapon from his vehicle and started launching projectiles at the Trump supporters but failed to strike anyone, police said.

He then approached the group and assaulted the woman according to police.

Bystanders intervened and officers arrived on the scene shortly afterwards to arrest Tretyakov, police said.
