Santa Clara County Reports 122 New Coronavirus Cases, No Deaths

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — The Santa Clara County Public Health Department reported 122 additional coronavirus cases Tuesday.

The latest announcement brings the countywide total of those who've tested positive for COVID-19 to 3,727.

The county reported no additional coronavirus-related fatalities, leaving its COVID-19 death toll at 154.

There were 61 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Santa Clara County as of Tuesday, of which 22 were being treated in intensive care units.

Elsewhere around the Bay Area and beyond, Caltrain and SamTrans launched customer surveys Monday to try to find out rider preferences and priorities amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

People who fill out the surveys at www.caltrain.com/covid19survey and www.samtrans.com/covid19survey will be eligible for a drawing for a $50 Visa gift card, with five gift card giveaways from each agency.

In response to recent rising ridership numbers as COVID-19 restrictions ease, BART on Monday began sending three extra commute trains to Pittsburg/Bay Point after previously turning them around at Pleasant Hill.

Parking lots on the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge have reopened on weekdays after previously closing as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, bridge officials said Monday.

There were 187,351 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 5,578 coronavirus-related deaths in California as of Tuesday afternoon according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The United States had 2,338,275 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 121,119 coronavirus-related fatalities as of Tuesday afternoon.
