SC Co. DA To Reveal Sheriff Corruption Probe Results: Report
It is not clear whether the findings of a criminal grand jury will be revealed, the report said.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office on Friday will announce results of an ongoing investigation of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office for an alleged concealed-gun permit corruption scandal, The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The DA’s Public Integrity Unit is investigating whether the law enforcement agency engaged into a “pay-to-play” practice for issuing concealed weapons, the report said.

Among the targets of the probe is a Seattle-based security executive who donated $45,000 to Sheriff Laurie Smith’s re-election campaign last year, the report said.
Martin Nielsen, as well as a colleague who later went to work at Facebook, were both granted concealed-gun permits according to the report.
