Silicon Valley's 24-hour Fundraising Effort Starts at Midnight: List of Local Businesses

Silicon Valley Gives -- starting at midnight Tuesday, May 6 -- is a 24-hour effort to raise millions for more than 650 charities in Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Benito counties, and is the region’s first-ever “giving day.”  

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of community foundations, Mountain View-based Silicon Valley Community Foundation will raise money for local nonprofits through a single online donation platform.

At Whole Foods Palo Alto, there will be a live broadcast by KFOX from 4-6 p.m.

“SVGives will raise awareness of – and money for – the many terrific organizations working to make our communities stronger, and along the way we are helping nonprofits strengthen their own capacity to attract donors and build for the future,” said Emmett Carson, CEO and president of Silicon Valley Community Foundation co-hosting the event along with lead sponsor Microsoft.
