Smoke From San Jose Fire Dept. Training Will Be Visible In Area: Advisory
The San Jose Fire Department is set to conduct a two-day training burn this week at Santa Teresa County Park.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- If smoke is seen this week from the area of Santa Teresa County, there is no cause for alarm, the San Jose Fire Department advised Tuesday. The department says it will be conducting a live-fire training burn off of Bernal Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, June 7-8; as a result of this training, smoke will be visible in the area.
According to San Jose Fire Department officials, California has faced some of the worst fire seasons in recorded history, putting thousands of homes at risk. Through comprehensive fire training, firefighters strive to minimize the loss of life and property due to wildfires.
The prescribed grass fire will also assist in managing invasive plant species for the park, officials said.
