South Bay Explosion Probed
The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office bomb squad is investigating an explosion that left a man with serious injuries.
GILROY, CA – An explosion Monday afternoon in Gilroy seriously injured a man, the Gilroy Police Department said.
Gilroy firefighters responded at 2:20 p.m. to the 1700 block of Mantelli Drive after someone reported the explosion.
The man was taken to a trauma center but an update on his condition was not available as of Tuesday morning according a San Jose Mercury News report.

Mantelli Drive between Rancho Hills Drive and Learnard Way will likely be closed for the Tuesday morning commute and may be closed for several days, police said.
The explosion is being investigated by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office bomb squad.
