South Bay Hostage Standoff Ends As Suspects Surrender

Three home invasion suspects are in custody after a standoff that started early Thursday morning at a home in San Jose, according to police.

SAN JOSE, CA — A hostage situation in San Jose ended with the surrender of the remaining suspects, police spokesman Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

The standoff ended shortly after 7 a.m. with the peaceful surrender of the last two suspects according to a San Jose Mercury News report.

Officers initially responded at 12:38 a.m. to a report of a disturbance at a home in the 4200 block of Senter Road and learned multiple suspects broke into a home and assaulted family members there, police said.

Arriving officers took a man into custody outside of the home and learned four victims escaped but others remained inside with two additional suspects.

The victims were treated at the scene and none required transport to a hospital, Garcia said.

Garcia said shortly after 8:30 a.m. that officers were processing the scene.
