Volunteers Needed to Pick Up Food for Charity

Peninsula Food Runners Organization is in need of new volunteers in Los Altos, Los Gatos and Mountain View, especially as we head into the Holidays.

The organization provides a free service to pick up excess perishable and prepared food from donors such as restaurants, caterers, bakeries, hospitals, event planners, corporate cafeterias, and hotels. Volunteers pick up food from these businesses and deliver it directly to shelters and neighborhood programs that feed the hungry. Volunteers deliver 25,000 meals to people in need every week.

Most food runs can be done within an hour.

Sign up as a volunteer at www.peninsulafoodrunners.org. Be sure to complete the registration in order to view the screen for all available food runs.
