SAN JOSE, CA — Seemingly aware that the Bay Area's humans needed a dose of joy during otherwise frightening times, a herd of about 200 goats broke free from a fenced-in area Tuesday evening and stampeded down a San Jose street, creating a neighborhood spectacle.
The man responsible Terry Roelands, told NBC that he's brought goats in periodically to clear brush on the hill behind his home, ever since it caught fire about 15 years ago.
On Tuesday, though, one goat managed to tap on an electric fence while munching on a flower, breaking the boards on the fence and allowing the hundreds of goats to leave the backyard and begin roaming the street, NBC reported.

The goats were corralled back to their feeding grounds within about 5 minutes, Roelands told NBC.
