SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Westfield Valley Fair shopping center is back in business.

One of the nation’s largest malls reopened for indoor retail on Monday for the first time since Santa Clara County joined most of the Bay Area in implementing shelter-in-place orders in March to combat the COVID-19 crisis.

The move follows Gov. Gavin Newsom’s announcement lifting some coronavirus restrictions on businesses and public gatherings in the county.

The mall has opened with updated health and safety protocols including the widespread availability of “sanitize on the go” stations, along with enforcement of social distancing measures, face-covering requirements, and capacity limits.

Participating retailers will continue to offer curbside pick-up and a digital “line pass” program available through the Westfield app allowing customers to join a retailer waitlist or book an appointment in advance from their home, car, or while in the center.

The shopping center’s new additions include luxury retailers Jimmy Choo and Bvlgari.

Rooster & Rice, Uncle Tetsu, and Vietnoms will open as part of Valley Fair’s Asian Food Collection, a curated collection of Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, and Thai restaurants.
