Where to treat Morton's Neuroma in the Bay Area

Morton's Neuroma treatment

Morton’s neuroma, a painful foot condition, normally affects the ball of the foot typically between the third and fourth toes. The victim has a feeling of a fold in the sock or a pebble in the shoe. It is caused because of a thickening of tissue surrounding the nerves which lead to the toe. The condition arises as a reaction to some injury, irritation or pressure. The best way of treating Morton’s Neuroma is with a change of footwear, or the use of arch supports. If the situation is acute it might warrant surgery or corticosteriod injections.

Some factors which are believed to lead to Morton’s Neuroma are:

  • Wearing shoes that are ill-fitting or tight, and high-heeled shoes
  • Participating in high-impact sports like running and jogging which subject the feet to repetitive trauma
  • Foot deformities like hammertoes, bunions, excessive flexibility and hammertoes

If you experience prolonged foot pain, you should consult your local podiatrist. If you reside in the Bay Area a good podiatric clinic to visit is Foot and Ankle Associates of Los Gatos which treats the full range of podiatric conditions. Click on http://www.sanjosepodiatrist.net/ to know more.
