Woman Killed, 5 Injured In Car Crash Today At San Jose Airport

The accident was near the airport's Terminal B.

A 25-year-old woman was killed when she crashed into a car carrying five people, including an infant, at Mineta San Jose International Airport this morning, a police spokesman said.

The crash happened near the airport’s Terminal B at about 10:30 a.m.

The woman, whose name is not yet being released, was apparently speeding south in a red two-door Pontiac when she struck a silver Audi SUV that was turning left into a parking structure, San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said.

The woman in the Pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene, while all five people in the Audi, including the infant, were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.

All five are expected to survive, Morales said. Three airlines operate out of Terminal B: Southwest, Alaska and Hainan, which recently began offering non-stop flights from San Jose to Beijing, airport spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes said.
