Thousands of residents in Malibu were ordered to evacuate as the Franklin Fire threatens dangerous conditions into the week.

MALIBU, CA — Southern California residents were ordered to evacuate on Tuesday morning as firefighters battled to maintain a wind-driven wildfire in Malibu. The threatening fire continues to burn near Pepperdine University, where students sheltered in the library, and seaside mansions.
