2,500 Cyclists Will Ride Through Malibu For AIDS/LifeCycle
The annual bike ride is designed to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.

MALIBU, CA – Approximately 2,500 bicyclists participating in the AIDS/LifeCycle 2018 will pass through Malibu along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) on Saturday, the final day of the week-long annual event. The riders will leave San Buenaventura State Beach in Ventura early Saturday morning, traveling south on PCH through Malibu enroute to the Closing Ceremonies at Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles.
The AIDS/LifeCycle is co-produced by the Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and is designed to advance the shared interest of reducing new HIV infections and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS. As part of the event, thousands of participants (either as cyclists, roadies, volunteers, or virtual cyclists) will "raise critically-needed funds for HIV/AIDS-related services and bring to light the fact that HIV/AIDS is still a devastating disease in our society, particularly the LGBT community and communities of color," according to the AIDS/LifeCycle website.
No lane closure permits have been issued by Caltrans for the Malibu portion of the event. Motorists are encouraged to share the road with the cyclists along the route. To learn more about the cycling event, visit AIDSLifeCycle.org
