The 15th Malibu Garden Tour will take place on Saturday, May 14th, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This garden tour attracts many outside visitors to a diverse array of extraordinary private gardens and has proven over the years to be one of Malibu's most enjoyable community events.
There will be six gardens offered in this year's tour.
- Water-Conserving Mediterranean Succulent Garden This spectacular Mediterranean garden full of visual delights is the Dept. of Water & Power’s “Poster Child” for an outstanding example of a water-conserving garden.
- A Hillside Paradise of California Natives A spectacular garden generously planted with Camellias, Clivias, and Roses and a preponderance of water-conserving California Natives shrubs.
- A Rose Lover’s Garden with Orchard Overlooking the Ocean A spectacular Rose garden with over 200 plantings in a border flanking the entire front lawn and the terraced orchard grove of more than 55 fruit and nut trees.
- Spanish Hacienda in a Tropical Garden The gorgeous tile-roof Spanish Hacienda style home is enveloped by a lush garden, generously planted with boughs spilling over of Bougainvilleas, Bromeliads, Calla Lilies, Clivias, Hellebores, several species of Philodendron and the stately Strelitzia nicolai or giant White Birds of Paradise.
- A Dream Ranch Garden for a Horse Loving Girl When you walk into this enclosed peaceful garden you feel that you have entered a secluded paradise of a bygone era far, far, away from every worry and care that you might have. Lush tall Palms and mature Torrey Pines and Coral trees encircle the property. The welcoming entryway patio creates a sense of private intimacy.
- Succulent Garden on Top of the World This magical garden is the result of the owner's steadfast and singular dedication to the gathering of cuttings of Jade, Aloes, Agaves, and fire-preventing Ice Plants to populate and transform this barren chaparral hillside into her own work of living art.
Pre-sale tickets are $30 and must be received by May 11th (or $35 at the door on the day of the event). Students are $10 with ID. Registration and payment can either be made online on the Malibu Garden Club's website (a transaction fee will be applied) or by mail.
