2020 U.S. Census Results: The Changing Demographics Of Malibu
The 2020 census shows an America that is becoming more diverse, with the Hispanic population growing faster than any other.
MALIBU, CA — The last 10 years have marked a dramatic shift in the demographic makeup of the United States, with a marked shrinkage of the white population and the rapid growth of the Hispanic community.
These changes were reflected in Malibu, where the share of the white population fell by 21.02 percent while the Hispanic population grew by 8.32 percent. The Asian population rose by 4.95 percent, and the Black/African American population remained the same.
Malibu also showed an increase in the number of people who identified themselves as multiracial, although the reasons are complex. Experts say the increase reflects changes in the way people identify themselves as well the number of children born to parents of mixed races or ethnicities, along with changes in the wording of census forms themselves.

In Malibu, the number of people who identified themselves as being two or more races was 525, showing a growth of 64.06 percent.
