United States ranked 34th of 35 developed countries for highest % of children living in poverty, only ahead of Romania.

America’s wealth grew by 60 percent in the past six years, by over $30 trillion. In approximately the same time, the number of homeless children has also grown by 60 percent.

Imagine that…on average, 1 out of every 5 kids we see out in this country are living in poverty; these are our children. Imagine if a child of yours had to live in poverty….just imagine that…and realize that it is totally unnecessary.

This is the United States of America! Approximately 1 out of every 6.5 Americans (in general) are living in poverty.
The Percentage of people living in the United States who are living under the poverty line is 15.50%
Here is just a small sampling of the poverty % of other countries:
Canada 9.4%
Denmark 13%
Vietnam 11%
Albania 12%
Switzerland and France 7%
Austria 6%
Tunisia 3%
Kazakhstan 5%
Serbia 9%
Taiwan and Sweden 1%
Should this not be considered an extremely valid indicator of a country’s prosperity and health, and success? Should we feel ashamed?
What Presidential candidates (of the 20 or so who have been running since July) has mentioned income equality and poverty as being a major issue in the campaign? I would bet that at least 15 have not mentioned the topic once in their campaign. That is an outrage in my opinion!
