
4th Annual Sister School Fair Sunday, May 26, 2013 11:00 a.m. to 3: 00 p.m., MHS Teachers' Parking Lot Malibu High School’s International Awareness Club is sponsoring the 4th Annual Sister School Fair. The purpose of the event is to support the education of refugee children by raising money for the Malibu High School Sister School in Chad for Darfurian refugees. The fair will feature local vendor tables, boutiques, food, arts and crafts, face painting, and great music from local performers. Some of our vendors: Food and Snacks: Jamba Juice, D’amores Pizza Handbags & Accessories: Beijo Bags Jewelry: Little Jewelry, Dog-Eared Jewelry Clothing: Dirty Edamame, HelloDolly, 27miles Malibu Accessories: Gogo Voyage Baked goods, special spices, cooking oils, fresh organic local produce, and used books and textbooks-at great prices for high school students- will also be on sale. Attendance is free and a portion of the profits made from sales will be donated to the Malibu High School Sister School in Darfur. The Sister Schools program, run by the Darfur Dream Team, is an initiative to connect American middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities with sister schools in 12 refugee camps in Chad. The two main objectives of the program include: to provide a quality education to every refugee child from Darfur, and to develop connections between students from Darfur and the united States through the promotion of mutual understanding.
