2. Malibu & LA County Enter Tolling Agreement for Fire Recovery (smdp.com) — Malibu officials have paused their lawsuit against Los Angeles County over the Palisades Fire by entering a tolling agreement that preserves the city’s legal rights while prioritizing faster recovery work. The deal supports a nearly $250 million, five‑year infrastructure plan, including new water mains and fire‑safety upgrades in Waterworks District 29, plus millions in grants and direct fire relief already flowing to Malibu residents and businesses.
3. Lizzy Crawford Races Through Pepperdine Track History (pepperdine-graphic.com) — A standout Pepperdine runner is making history while calling Malibu home, becoming the first woman in Waves track program history to reach NCAA Regionals and setting multiple school records.
