Irv's Burgers Celebrates 80 Years With 80-Cent Burgers In Malibu

Customers can nab 80-cent burgers at the chain's three Los Angeles County locations.

MALIBU, CA — Irv's Burgers is celebrating 80 years in business with 80-cent burgers, giveaways and a fundraiser for regional food banks.

The burger chain, which started on Route 66 in West Hollywood in 1946, will sell its signature Roadside Burger for 80 cents throughout the day Wednesday, Aug. 26, at all Irv's locations while supplies last.

The locations in Los Angeles County are:

1000 S. La Brea Ave. — Mid-Wilshire
23401 Cross Creek Road — Malibu
7998 Santa Monica Blvd. — West Hollywood

The promotion is available in stores only and is limited to one burger per customer with no modifications. The deal will not be available for online or third-party delivery orders.

Customers who are 80 or older can receive a free Roadside Burger with a valid ID.

Each location will also give away 80 prizes to Irv's Rewards members and customers who sign up for the program in stores that day. Prizes include free burgers for a year, $80 gift cards, combo meals and merchandise.

The free-burgers-for-a-year prize includes one Roadside Single Burger each week.

Irv's will also sell limited-edition 80th anniversary hats, T-shirts and pins, with free stickers available while supplies last.

The celebration will benefit two regional hunger-relief organizations. For each full-size combo sold Aug. 26, Irv's will donate 80 cents to Three Square and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Longo said the 80-cent burger promotion is meant to thank customers while the food bank donations give the company another way to support its communities.

Irv's began in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, a roadside stand along historic Route 66 with a sign declaring, "No Lobster, Just Burgers."

The business later became Irv's Burgers and has been designated a cultural resource by the city of West Hollywood. It is also known for its "Just For You" doodles handed to customers with their orders.
