• Safety Resource Fair (malibucity.org) — Malibu residents can boost their wildfire and disaster readiness at the City's Safety Resource Fair on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You'll find practical information, tools, and training opportunities to prepare your home, family, and business for wildfires, earthquakes, floods, and tsunamis in one convenient local event.

• Coming El Niño could bring unusual marine life to region (wavepublication.com) — Scientists say a strengthening El Niño is already drawing unusual marine life to Southern California, including a whale shark spotted off Malibu. Warmer waters could bring more tropical fish and even rare sea snakes, while also stressing seals and sea lions. Malibu beachgoers are urged to report unusual animals and keep clear of sick or stranded marine mammals.
