MALIBU, CA — Los Angeles County officials have invited the public to a virtual meeting on the Topanga Lagoon Restoration Project on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The meeting will feature updated designs and opportunities for community feedback as the project nears its 90% design milestone.
The project aims to restore and expand the lagoon, improve coastal access and public safety, protect habitat and strengthen resilience to sea level rise and changing coastal conditions, according to the Beaches and Harbors Department. The presentation will cover proposed coastal access and trail improvements, the Pacific Coast Highway bridge, visitor and public safety facilities and a "living shoreline."
Officials said the presentation will be in English, with live captioning available in multiple languages. To request additional accessibility accommodations, email TopangaLagoonRestoration@gmail.com.
Participants will have opportunities to ask questions and share feedback during the meeting.
Residents were encouraged to review materials from the May 2026 public meeting in advance, which are available on the project's website.
