Malibu’s AYSO All-Star Boys U-12, the Flying Fish, won the Area 10E Championship in Moorpark last Sunday, January 20, with an impressive tournament record of winning all of the 11 games played. The Flying Fish scored a total of 39 goals while holding their All-Star opponents to only 4 goals scored against! The all-star tournament was played over three weekends in January. The Flying Fish earned the first seed in the play-off tournament by winning all 8 of their
games in the previous weekends. They defeated a team from Thousand Oaks on Saturday in the quarter finals with a score of 5-0. In the semi-finals, the Flying Fish bested their opponents from Moorpark by scoring 4 goals to
Moorpark’s single goal. The championship trophy was awarded to the Flying Fish after their 1-0 victory over Newbury Park’s A-Team.
The Flying Fish will represent Malibu at the Section 10 Playoffs, held in Bakersfield, California, during the first weekend in March.
