Answering Ignorance and Malice in Malibu

The Build or Bust Crowd Gets Nasty

ANSWERING IGNORANCE AND MALICE

Dull witted as they are, the build at all cost crowd that is selling out Malibu obviously just couldn’t coherently refute my commentaries concerning Malibu Park.

So they did what cowards do: invaded our privacy and exposed our personal finances, misreading and misrepresenting them, suggesting we committed a fraud. Lies, out of ignorance or maliciousness. They just have no smarts, nor writing style, nor shame.

And as sleazy as they are, they apparently hid behind impostors who in concert signed on local websites with pseudonyms to pepper the thread of my last commentary. Not incidentally in the first two days it had attracted an estimated 4,000 viewers, and overwhelming positive replies.

Notably, the commentary observed that a warped Planning Commission had approved a questionable project subverting Malibu Park, pointedly identifying the guilty commissioners, Drew Leonard, Skylar Peak and Dennis Smith, and their sponsors, councilpersons Stewart, Riggins and Grisanti.

As for the furtive impostors and a few other dolts, their comments all parroted the same falsehoods and nasty tone, suggesting their diatribes had been orchestrated.

This clumsy effort to defame me and distract readers from the harsh observation that Malibu is being serially degraded, by a covetous clique in pursuit of personal profit and power, does not bode well for the upcoming local elections.

The resorting to lies and tricks no doubt have been prompted by an unease that despite their support of the bloated mid Malibu motel /hotel project, it was defeated; the rubber stamping by a compromised planning staff of the gross Malibu Park project had aroused an outpouring of opposition, and that there has been a palpable appreciation of councilpersons Uhring’s and Silverstein’s lucid contributions to a muddled City Council.

Insulting me, they can expect me to reply with bite. No more mister nice guy. I wasn’t once the chief editorial writer for a young Rupert Murdoch for nothing.

And in their reckless pursuit of overblown projects, enriching themselves, friends and, in conflicts of interest, potential clients, they can no longer view Malibu as PCH without speed limits. We have them in our headlights.
