Applications Being Accepted for Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten Program

MJC&S will be offering a newly expanded pre-kindergarten program for children aged four years in addition to its program for two- and three-year-olds.
MJC&S is working with local public and private elementary schools with the express goal of ensuring that every child has a natural, stress-free transition from preschool to kindergarten. MJC&S’s Pre-K program will integrate its current philosophy of developing each child’s natural curiosity, imagination and problem-solving ability in preparation for a smooth transition to kindergarten.

Located on the Pacific Coast Highway, MJC&S has for years offered classes for both preschool children and Mommy and Me. MJC&S added its new, hugely popular Friday afternoon Shabbat program called “I’m Jewish Too” in October 2011. The MJC&S Early Childhood Center has continually provided a safe, loving and nurturing environment where children develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively, drawing students from all over Malibu, the Valley and surrounding areas. MJC&S is proud that its small class sizes allow every child to receive personal attention that recognizes his or her individuality.
Lauren Abramowitz, Director of MJC&S’s Early Childhood Center is sensitive to the fact that many parents are opting to give their children the gift of a valuable extra year in preschool before entering kindergarten. Abramowitz notes that there has been a flood of positive feedback from the community about MJCS’s preschool program and upcoming Pre-K program, and she is looking forward to another exciting year.

MJC&S is a Reconstructionist synagogue and community center offering a variety of services and activities to the community, including its popular Mommy and Me, Preschool and Pre-K programs.
