Barbra Streisand Buys Disney Stock For George Floyd's Daughter
Singer Barbra Streisand confirmed that she purchased shares of stock in Disney for George Floyd's daughter Gianna.

MALIBU, CA — “People who need people are the luckiest people in the world,” Barbra Streisand once famously sang.
Now the singer, actor, and Malibu resident has proved that maxim true. On Monday, Streisand confirmed that she purchased shares of the Walt Disney Company for George Floyd’s six-year-old daughter Gianna.
It is unknown how many shares Streisand purchased for her. But Disney stock, which as of Thursday traded for $118.37 a share, is seen by experts as a safe, stable, and high-yield investment.

“Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you,” Floyd wrote on her Instagram page Sunday. The post included photos of Floyd holding up stock certificates, and DVDs of Streisand’s TV specials “Color Me Barbra” and “My Name Is Barbra.”

“I sent Gianna videos where I played a little girl in my first television special singing kid songs and my second special a sequence with lots of baby animals,” Streisand said Monday through a spokesperson, who confirmed the information in the Instagram post to the Los Angeles Times.
Streisand isn’t the only Angeleno who’s pitched in to help Floyd, whose father George was killed in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25 in a moment that sparked an unprecedented wave of protests.
Rapper and Hidden Hills resident Kanye West started a 529 fund in early June that will completely pay for Floyd’s college tuition, according to CNN. He also made a $2-million donation to support the families of Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor.
Since her father died, more than $2.1 million have been raised in her her name through a GoFundMe campaign.
“Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support,” Floyd’s mother Roxie Washington said in a comment on the GoFundMe page. “We understand that people are wanting to send cards, pictures, or any gifts for my baby. We appreciate that. Because of the outpouring of love and support felt around the world, we are proud to announce a foundation that we have created where supporters can send what they feel from the heart...”
