Photos of Spring Fire at Sycamore Canyon and along PCH between Malibu and Ventura County

This evening when I drove home on PCH after meeting with one of my students, I could scarcely believe what I was seeing.  The Spring Fire was racing down into Sycamore Canyon right before my eyes.   You could easily see a wall of flame as it crested a ridge-line on its way toward the ocean.  

Few people were still in the area apart from some park rangers and CHP officers.  Time to get out of there for sure, and indeed PCH was closed very shortly afterwards. 

Being a photographer I learned the hard way to never forget to carry a camera with me.  So I was able to quickly snap some pictures of the fire and the ominous scenes along PCH.  Then I hurried home to check on my ‘go-kit’ and prepare just in case we have to evacuate. 

Thanks to all the fire-fighters out there, doing their best to keep us safe.
