Malibu Brush Fire Contained, No Active Flames
Busch Drive was temporarily closed so the fire department could clean up after the fire.

MALIBU, CA — A half-acre brush fire ignited in Malibu around 8 a.m. Thursday morning in the 5300 block of Horizon Drive. Smoke and fire were showing in heavy brush, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Officials coined the flames the Horizon Fire.
About 200 firefighters and three helicopters were on the scene battling the flames, according to NBC Los Angeles. Structures were threatened by the fire, officials said, but it was unsure how many.
Bright red flames decorated a palm tree whipping back and forth in the wind, based on a live shot of the scene.
