California Wildlife Center Helps Orphaned Wildlife

California Wildlife Center is launching a campaign to help orphaned wildlife. CWC cares for hundreds of baby animals every year.

Malibu, Calif. - March 22, 2017 – California Wildlife Center (CWC) is seeing an influx of baby wildlife needing help. CWC rescued the first baby of the year, a stranded California sea lion pup on January 1st, 2017. Since then, more have arrived including: opossums, elephant seals, and squirrels. In another month, there will be hundreds of orphaned baby birds needing care. In total, CWC cares for the babies of more than 80 native California species and over 1,000 individual baby animals every year.

California Wildlife Center is launching a crowd funding campaign through GivingGrid to help these baby animals. GivingGrid is an online fundraising program that allows donors to click on a blank square in the grid, make a tax-deductible donation in any amount from $10 and up, and then upload their own personal photo into the grid that they may share with their friends on social media. The proceeds from this campaign will support the injured wildlife cared for at California Wildlife Center. This campaign will run through the month of April.

Each orphaned animal requires a different diet, rehabilitation, and treatment before they can be released. The GivingGrid will help to fund this variety of services.
