Canoers Find Man’s Missing Prosthetic Leg in a Beaver's Dam: A Wisconsin man finally has his lost prosthetic leg back after it was discovered embedded in a beaver dam by two guys who were canoeing on a creek between two lakes - who then were able to locate the owner through an ad placed on Craigslist.

Wow, all I can say is, leave it to beavers! They really left this poor guy up a creek - at least halfway anyway. Ironically, before the leg was found, the man had considered suing his doctor over the poorly fitted prosthetic, but his lawyer advised him that he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Good thing too, you don’t wanna get off on the wrong foot with your doctor. Its just that he didn’t wanna have to pay an arm and a leg to get a new one.

The two canoers say before checking Craigslist, they were completely stumped over how to find the leg’s real owner. They said they don’t really feel like heroes and expressed hope that others would do the same thing - if the shoe were on the other foot.

Anyway, at the risk of sounding like a heel, this whole story just sounds a wee bit too fantastic to be true. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say I think these guys are just pulling our leg.
