Suspected Car Thief Takes Beach Jog In Malibu To Avoid Cops
Deputies searched oceanfront houses for a man who had stolen a car.

MALIBU, CA – A section of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu was shut down Sunday morning as deputies searched oceanfront houses for a man who had stolen a car. Deputies spotted a man at about 7:15 a.m. seated in a car in the 20700 block of Pacific Coast Highway, ran the license plates and discovered that the vehicle had been stolen, according to a watch sergeant at the sheriff's Lost Hills/Malibu station.
"He (the suspect) ran out of the car and down the beach," he said.
The search, on PCH east of Las Flores Canyon Road, was shut down about 7:45 a.m., he said.
