Chill Out, Malibu, Grab A Cookie!

Saturday is National Cookie Day, and Malibu residents can grab a free CBD cookie from Vintage Grocers.

MALIBU, CA — Chill out, Malibu, and grab a free cookie Saturday for National Cookie Day.

C.B. Dough, a CBD cookie dough brand, is cool, calm and collected, and ready to commemorate the national holiday. The brand will offer free, freshly baked cookies at Vintage Grocers, located at 30745 Pacific Coast Highway, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

"What better time to introduce Malibu residents to C.B. Dough than on National Cookie Day? We're looking forward to celebrating tomorrow by 'treating' Malibu residents with our delicious, high-quality CBD cookies," Davidoff said. She added: "All that’s required is a good attitude and a love of cookies."

In addition, the company will donate 50 percent of their profits from Friday to Sunday to Feeding America, an organization that works to improve access to healthy food and combat food insecurity.

C.B. Dough sells their products year round at Vintage Grocers. On the shelf, they sell four flavors of ready-to-bake cookie dough. Each of their cookies has 15 mg of CBD.

C.B. Dough was founded last year by Davidoff and her sister, Maddy Davidoff.

What Is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant that doesn't have any intoxicating effects — that comes from THC, according to Healthline. CBD is most popularly known to help relieve physical pain and anxiety.

CBD is most effective for sleeping anxiety, pain and sleep disorders, according to Harvard Health Publishing, while other marketed uses for CBD are less supported by research and testing.

CBD is a safe product for adults, according to Harvard Health Publishing, though it can cause certain side effects and interact with certain medicines. Harvard Health Publishing recommends checking with a doctor before using CBD.
