Coroner ID's Pedestrian Killed In PCH Hit-And-Run

Michael Bennett, 58, was killed Sunday night in a fatal hit-and-run near Las Flores Canyon Road.

MALIBU, CA —The coroner's office Monday identified a pedestrian who was struck on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu by a hit-and-run driver who remains at large.

Michael Bennett, 58, of Malibu was fatally injured about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on westbound PCH at Las Flores Canyon Road. The suspect of the collision fled the scene and has not yet been located, according to Lt. Evans of the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff's Station.

Evans told the Malibu Times that the suspect's vehicle was a dark-colored sedan that headed westbound after Bennett was struck.

Westbound lanes of PCH near Las Flores Canyon Road were closed Sunday night but have since reopened.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff's Station at 818-878-1808.
