Decker Canyon Road Closes In Malibu Before Storm
It is a safety precaution in burn areas where there were multiple mud and rock slides and closures during the last storms, officials said.

MALIBU, CA – Decker Canyon Road (State Route 23) will be closed in the Woolsey Fire burn area in anticipation of the weekend's storms, Caltrans announced Friday.
"This closure will be implemented as a safety precaution in burn areas where there were multiple mud and rock slides and closures during the past two storms," the City of Malibu said in an alert.
The closure will start at 10 p.m. Friday and is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Decker Canyon Road will be closed in both directions from Pacific Coast Highway to upper Mulholland Highway.

"The closure points will be staffed by the California Highway Patrol. Residents with identification will be permitted access if conditions are safe," the city said. "During storms, Caltrans maintenance crews are on duty 24/7 in 12-hour shifts. Crews have been and will continue to clear drains and inlets from debris in anticipation of the rain storms."
Crews will be patrolling PCH through the Woolsey Fire burn area and on Topanga Canyon Boulevard (SR-27) between PCH and the US-101 Freeway for immediate response, officials said.
