‘Denim and Diamonds’ on Saturday Night for Webster’s Fundraiser

Calamigos Ranch is the setting for Western glitz and glamour.

Several hundred parents and friends of partied into the night Saturday at the school’s annual fundraiser. The theme was “Denim and Diamonds,” and the party took place at .

Funds raised support PTA-sponsored programs such as classroom teachers’ aides, computer lab, art instruction, music and other educational programs for which funding is otherwise unavailable or insufficient.

Unexpectedly spirited bidding erupted for the Principal for the Day and Premiere Parking Spot, with Rica Leon enthusiastically countering the offers by Steven Kofsky. Principal Phil Cott kept the bidding lively with his emcee skills. Once Kofsky emerged as the winner, Cott made a spot decision to offer two of the coveted prizes, and Leon agreed to match the winning bid, for a double-win.

Other popular auction items included a luxury suite at a Dodgers game, a round of golf with former MLB player Royce Clayton and VIP tickets to Disney’s new comedy Jessie.
