Developers Funding Malibu Local Election

If this local election now stumbling to an end has disclosed anything, it is that a gaggle of greedy residents personified by City Council candidate Paul Grisanti are prime to sell out Malibu, their neighbors and the city’s blessed environment.

Why else would distant developers in the inland empire and under rocks elsewhere be pouring tens of thousands of alien dollars through PACs into Grisanti’s campaign, which are going to the funding of a dirty water flood of signs, advertising and salacious flyers?

And why else would Malibu residents such as planning commissioner Drew Leonard, and Nathan Jones,, president of the board of the Boys&Girls Club, (now ex after being exposed) indulge in dirty tricks, Mayor Doug Stewart lie and an embarrassment of former mayors grovel?

Why else but out of fealty to a duplicitous Grisanti and the promise of personal profit in the overdevelopment of Malibu as a tourist and trophy house conceit, and commercial blight, to be oversold by voracious realtors.

All this to the delight and financial gain of alien real estate interests, as evidenced by the public disclosure of the donors listed in the State required PAC expenditure reports, which were ferreted out of by the city’s conscientious reform contingent. Good on them.

That is why the vigilant reformers concerned with Malibu being corrupted by a self -serving majority of the City Council are urging the reelection of the stalwart Bruce Silverstein and Steve Uhring, and the write in of Andy Lyon, as I am.

Silverstein, Uhring and Lyon above all the candidates have the smarts, experience, and commitment to form a needed Council; majority to save our iconic Malibu from further degradation by Grisanti and feckless followers.
