Donald Trump is Inspiring Future Generations

A generation is watching.

There is no doubt that Donald Trump will inspire future generations.
He has taught them (the men, at least) that NO level of disgusting,
uncivil, demeaning, or corrupt behavior, will prevent them from reaching the top
rungs in our society. You can bully and cheat your way to be a
billionaire...and to being in control of the free world.

It’s clear that there is no penalty in mocking the
handicapped, implying that a US Senator will provide sexual favors for
campaign contributions, for lying all the time about everything, for
grabbing pu**y and bragging about it,
for saying “Mexicans are rapists”, for couching racists, fabricating a
lie that the former President was not a U.S. citizen, for
conspiring with an enemy foreign nation, for obstructing justice, etc.,
etc., etc.. The list is endless.....

Yesterday, virtually all Republican politicians were
praising Trump with flowery terms, “so proud to know him”, “a truly
great leader for our time”, "He may turn out to be our greatest President ever", said Utah Senator , Orrin Hatch. Listen to the words Mike Pence used to
describe and praise Trump yesterday, as if he were Oskar Schindler.

Children are watching. They WILL model this precedence, this lesson,
this behavior. No, you don't have to be a decent human being to be the President of the United States, not even close. Actually, you can be one of the worst human beings that many of us have seen in our lifetimes. You can be pathologically egotistical (breathtakingly) and have a reputation for never apologizing over anything, punishing anyone who challenges you (remember when he said on
national television that Megan Kelly was “bleeding from her wherever”
when he disapproved of her question during the debate?
40% of America embrace this guy. Yes, 2 out of 5 of your neighbors and those family members sitting across from you during Christmas dinner will take a bullet for this guy. "Sieg Heil". No one
knew we were this messed up as a nation, but we probably should have. Not even people who knew we were
messed up thought we were (this) messed up. We should be very scared; our democracy hanging by a thread--a thread!

What are we, as citizens, lacking that we can accept this kind of behavior? Where did the trains come off the track? Were they ever really on the "track" to begin with?

NOW, it’s all too clear
how we were able to enslave people for 300 years and then lynch them
for trying to live freely. NOW I understand how we were able to exterminate
and the native population without losing any sleep. NOW I
know how we slaughtered the Vietnamese (millions of them) without an
apology. NOW I see how we could so unrepentantly invade Iraq and
slaughter it’s citizens based on a lie. NOW I get how we have been, with
institutionalized support, abusing, raping, subjugating, and
suppressing women since the sun was hot.
Now I understand how we
live in a society where the main currency is sex, and power, and
money...and not kindness, compassion, and service.

Now I understand when some people say that they love and care for their pets more than for other people.

“And now I understand what you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen
They're not
List'ning still
Perhaps they never will” - from "Starry Starry Night" - Don McClean
