DUI Checkpoint Planned In Malibu This Week
The Sheriff's Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Malibu later this week.
MALIBU, CA — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department plans to conduct a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Malibu on Friday, Sept. 15.
The checkpoint will be in effect from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Authorities choose checkpoint locations based on data on impaired driving-related crashes, the Sheriff's Department said.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Sgt. Michael Lennig said in a release. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”
