An earthquake epicentered in the ocean west of Malibu struck Friday afternoon.

MALIBU, CA — An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 struck the ocean west of Malibu Friday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake struck at 4:19 p.m. Friday. It was epicentered about 3 miles west of Point Dume.

It was about 4 miles deep, according to the USGS.
