Earthquake Rattles Malibu. Did You Feel It?
The quake struck off the coast of Point Mugu State Park Monday shortly after 5 p.m.

MALIBU, CA — A magnitude 3.7 earthquake off the coast of Point Mugu State Park rattled the Malibu area Monday afternoon.
The temblor hit at 5:07 p.m. Wednesday less than a half-mile off the coast, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. According to geologist Lucy Jones, the quake struck 11 miles down, and because it was deep, it didn't cause strong enough shaking to cause significant damage in nearby communities.
"It’s located near, perhaps on, the Anacapa fault, part of the system pushing up the Santa Monica Mtns.," tweeted Jones.

The quake was felt in Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley.
The M3.6 quake near Camarillo is deep, 11 miles down, so no one was very near to it and thus no one was strongly shaken. It’s located near, perhaps on, the Anacapa fault, part of the system pushing up the Santa Monica Mtns. https://t.co/D5sY2rXhKs
