Eight-Day Streak of Rising Gasoline Prices Ends

The average price is 4.8 cents more than one week ago and 12.4 cents higher than one month ago but 18.9 cents less than one year ago.

LOS ANGELES, CA - An eight-day streak of increases ended Friday when the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent to $2.856.

The average price rose 7.4 cents during the streak, including one-tenth of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.8 cents more than one week ago and 12.4 cents higher than one month ago but 18.9 cents less than one year ago.

An eight-day streak of increases also ended in Orange County as its average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $2.835.

The Orange County average price had risen 8 cents over the past eight days, including two-tenths of a cent on Thursday. It is 4.8 cents more than one week ago and 12.5 cents higher than one month ago but 15 cents less than one year ago.
