Golf For Seniors

The City of Malibu's Senior Center will host its new course, Golf for Seniors, from June 14 through July 19 on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The cost of this six-week class is $15.

The new class will teach the basics of routine and special golf shots through hands-on instruction.  Topics include proper grip, stance, posture, and ball position; the difference between "wood" and "iron" shots; and the basic techniques for chipping, pitching, lobbing, cutting, hooking, and slicing the golf ball, as well as putting.  The initial course will cover equipment used, the scoring system in golf as seen on television, and a discussion on how to deal with physical limitations from the back, hips, and knees.

This class will be taught by Dr. Fred Lieberman, a certified instructor through the United States Golf Teachers Federation.  Space is limited.  Register at the Malibu Senior Center.
