Fatal Accident On Malibu Canyon Road

MALIBU, CA — A 68-year-old Encino man was killed after his vehicle went off the road and down a steep hill in Malibu, authorities said Wednesday. The crash was reported at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday near Malibu Canyon Road, south of Piuma Road, and the man was driving a 2013 Toyota, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

For reasons unknown, the man made an unsafe turning movement and the Toyota left the road and went down the hill on Malibu Canyon Road, the CHP said. The road was closed in both directions until late Tuesday night, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
