Former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jack Ryan has purchased the Malibu Surfside News, according to reports.
Ryan, a property owner in Malibu, owns 11 other newspaper in Illinois under 22nd Century Media, according to Romenesko.
The paper has not put out an issue since the editor Anne Soble was hospitalized in June.
