A New Home Decor Store Is Coming To Malibu — See Photos Before Its July 1 Opening

MALIBU, CA — Furniture and decor store Habitat Home & Garden's third location will open in Malibu on July 1.

The San Luis Obispo-based retailer offers a selection of home furnishings and decor focused on unique pieces that are rich in history and whimsy. The company also offers design services. Its Malibu location will open at 21249 Pacific Coast Highway, near Rambla Pacifico Street.

As with its San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara locations, Habitat chose a historic building for its third store. The Malibu store is located within a 4,000-square-foot property from the 1930s.

“Our brand is known for curating eclectic, soulful pieces from around the world, so a cookie-cutter retail building wasn’t going to be an accurate reflection of who we are,” Habitat President Kaj Maloney said in a release.

“All of our locations have a story, from old hardware stores to local groceries; and the Malibu location is no exception. These historic buildings not only create a fun space for our design team to harness their creativity but also results in an interesting layout for our customers to explore, with various unique rooms and vignettes. The character it exudes provides a sense of excitement and energy you cannot achieve with a newly built rectangle."

After operating in San Luis Obispo for nearly three decades, Habitat opened its second store in Santa Barbara in 2019.

Habitat Home & Garden opens July 1. It will be open Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
