Hit-And-Run Driver Crashes Into At Least Eight Cars, Then Ocean

The incident happened late last night between the Los Angeles and Ventura county lines. The man is now in custody.

MALIBU, CA – A motorist allegedly struck several vehicles in Malibu before his van went off the side of Pacific Coast Highway and crashed into the ocean. The driver is in custody today, and the crash occurred late Thursday night near the Los Angeles County/Ventura county line, according to a sergeant at the sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Station.

The suspect's Chevrolet Express van was westbound on PCH when it collided with seven vehicles in Malibu before heading into Ventura County, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. When it reached Ventura County, it hit at least one other vehicle before the driver veered back into Los Angeles County and crashed on the beach near Leo Carrillo State Park, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.

The name of the man was not available at this time.
